Cat Dyed Pink to Match Owner's Hair

Natasha Gregory's cat, named Oi! Kitty, went missing in England last week and the pet's owner was mystified

What the young woman did to her sweet puss would have had our feline friends heading for cover in their litter boxes.

Gregory recently dyed Oi! Kitty pink with food coloring to match her own fuchsia-hued locks.

"I always wanted a pink animal a bit like my hair," Gregory, a 22-year-old mother of two, told The Sun. "After I turned her pink, I was like, 'Oh, she matches my hair."''

The owner insisted that the food coloring did the animal no harm and said her sister, the cat's original owner, had also dyed Oi! Kitty once.

"The cat didn't seem to be worried and she looked lovely," Gregory said. "We eat the food the dye is used on so I knew it wasn't toxic."

Oi! Kitty is probably so glad her owner doesn't have nose piercings.

The pink cat created a colorful media sensation in England when she was discovered wandering in a neighbor's garden and was handed over to an animal protection shelter.

While Gregory insisted the cat was perfectly fine, an animal behavior expert told the British newspaper she objected to the dye job, which she said could cause agitation "like a red rag to a bull."
